AN OPEN LETTER TO HON SABINA CHEGE.

 A llow me to greet you in the name of Jehovah the Elohim. I hope you are doing great and fine. From the photos i have seen seeing of you , they are enough testimony that you are fine and in good health. You are one of the many females from Mūrang'a County who have been having studious career in politics and majority have been looking upon you as a role model. You know very well in politics and even in the society, you will be loved and loathed in equal measure. That's normal and if that doesn't happen to you , then , just know there is a problem. A very serious problem for that matter because from where I am seated typing this letter to you , there are those who adore you especially when your name penetrate into their ears or their eyes set  on you either in a photo or in a television set while there those who embarks on hurling unprintable words upon hearing you or setting their eyes on your photo or seeing you in the television set.

Your career in politics sojourned when you decided to shift your career from the media where you started low and broke alot of ceilings to rise to the position of management at Kenya Broadcasting corporation. It was a illustrious career where you were able to light and held the candle of upcoming journalists who today, they are cracking our limbs and informing us what's happening around us and even across the borders. In 2013 , you decided to throw yourself into the political arena. With the moniker name "maitu wa county ya Mūrang'a" , you were able to convince alot of hearts of Mūrang'a County residents who rooted in the ballot and voted you as their Women Rep on a TNA ticket. To date , there are those who has kept your political poster of 2013 in the walls of their houses as a souvenir. During that stint as our women rep in the August house , the then President Uhuru Kenyatta picked you to lead one of the powerful National Assembly committees, that of education. It is a committee that enabled you to touch alot of lives of children who were struggling with their education in Mūrang'a County. You left an indelible mark to many students. Congratulations!!!! Again, it was an honor for former President Uhuru Kenyatta to have trust in you and in the whole of Mūrang'a County and infact in Mt Kenya region, when he picked you to chair education committee. As a woman, that is another ceiling that you managed to break. A woman chairing a parliamentary commitee in a Kenya's politics which is a patriarchy, it was a small achievement.

In 2017 , you were able to defend your seat with alot of easiness. It was a walk over when you coined the slogan "maitu ndacenjagio" ( one can't replace a mother). This slogan charmed the residents of Mūrang'a County from Gatanga to Mathioya who ended up rioting again in the ballot and overwhelmingly voted for you. Infact, if there is a politician who have spent little during campaigns in Mt Kenya region, I bet it is you. The reason is simple ; your charming persona what is able to win the hearts and the minds of the people with ease. Again, former President who too managed to secure a second term in office amid turbulences had trust and confidence in you. He went ahead to pick you to chair another powerful National Assembly committee (Health). Again, you broke another glass ceiling in national assembly leadership courtesy of your party leader Uhuru Kenyatta. The trust and confidence in him to pick you to chair two powerful National Assembly committees in a span of 10 years is something you can't afford to pour cold water on. Infact, that is the last thing I can expect from you not only me as your supporter but even your political opponents too. 

On Sunday, you were hosted by Inooro TV Kiririmbi show host Francis Gachuri. Though I wasn't watching live , I was able to do a rerun of that show courtesy of YouTube. I listened to you tentatively and without batting my eyelids. Infact, I was in a seclusion to deter any distraction. I listened how you heeped blame on your party leader Uhuru Kenyatta who you are jostling to replace as party leader after the coup d'etat you people are staging at the party is successful. Your timing is what has betrayed your camp especially after visiting President Ruto and his Deputy at State House. You are now being viewed as renegades who are being used to destroy your own party with a promise that you will be accommodated in UDA. This is a kin to a man who chases his wife and children inorder to be housed by the side chick yet the side chick has no business with him and all what she wants is to destroy that man's marriage with no alternative solution to offer. Don't fall to that trap at all. Please don't , don't fall to it. For the many times you have taken to this kind of shows especially in Inooro TV/FM and Kameme TV/FM, you have urged politicians especially Mt Kenya region to shun hypocrisy and be genuine. 

In that show , you went ahead to blame Jubilee Party for wasting you and on this one , I was stuck , amazed and baffled. Before the August 9th general elections, speculations were rife that you were jostling to vie for Mūrang'a County Gubernatorial seat. As one of your supporters , I waited in vain. Then , I got wind that you were jostling to vie for Kigumo parliamentary seat. That too turned out to be rumours. That's how all your supporters were thrown into the abyss of confusion. At Jubilee Party headquarters, flanked your colleagues in the party, you said in unequivocal manner that you will not vie for any political seat and you gave your blessings to one Jamleck Kamau who was slated to fly the Jubilee Party flag in vying for Mūrang'a Gubernatorial seat. You committed that , you will direct your energies in Azimio la Umoja one Kenya coalition party. You even tossed yourself in the race for being Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga running mate where you were squaring it with Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua. After the Committee that was tasked in chosing who that running mate will be , they settled on Karua. The chairman of Azimio la Umoja Uhuru Kenyatta ensured you were retained in the coalition's top decision making organ. Then , how can you accuse your party leader of not doing anything to empower his trusted loyalists? If in an event Azimio la Umoja formed the government, the whole World knows you would be holding a very coveted state office with immense powers and privileges courtesy of your party leader Uhuru Kenyatta. Fact!! How did he wasted you and he ended up nominating you in the national assembly? Surely!!! Is this what you can quantify and qualify as betrayal from your party leader? Really?????

To concluded, let us not behave like the proverbial story of the scorpions in the open can which travelled on a journey of thousand miles and none of the scorpions managed to come out of the can. I hope you can collerate the message I am trying to pass across. Now that your political star is still bright owing to your age , come 2027 , you will through yourself in Mūrang'a County politics. My question and that of many is , which political seat will you vie for and in which political party? I rest my case.
