The worst form of conflict in any society and both traditional and modern sociologists like Karl Marx , Max Weber, Ervin Goffman , Emile Durkheim , Veblen etc will tell you , it is class wars. The have and the have nots. Marx in his conflict theories postulates a conflict and a revolution that the hoi polloi ( proletariat) vowed to wage against the bourgeoisies ( owners of capital) for mistreating them and enjoying life with a big spoon at their expense. All this is necessitated by the capitalist thinking and reasoning that Karl Marx, 200 years back predicted that , it will be overthrown by the proletariats and replaced with socialism inorder to have a just and equatable society. What Marx from wherever he is didn't know is , even those socialist states today, they are at an alarming rate being assimilated into capitalism. China , Cuba, Russia etc are being slowly adapting capitalism mentality and mannerisms. The conflict between the rich and the poor isn't ending soon. The most dangerous thing is , the proletariats lost themselves in the hands of the bourgeoisies. It is the later group which is now controlling the later's social, economic and political aspects.
In Kenya , the seed of class wars was planted by the current President Ruto when he fell politically with his former boss and head of state President Uhuru Kenyatta. When the later unionised a political marriage with his erstwhile political rival Raila Odinga , Ruto feared that , the two songs of pioneer political elites in Kenya , that is , Jomo Kenyatta and Oginga Odinga were hatching a plot to scuttle his presidential bid. To ensure that he nips their plans in the bud, him and his troops christened as Tanga Tanga labelled them as Dynasties and their leader as the Hustler. This narrative gained traction after their online brigade peddled it with much zeal and vigour. And since majority of Kenyans feel they belong to the class of hoi polloi , in them , they saw that they have a Che Guevara in a billionaire who told them , by selling chicken, he rose to political and economic stardom. It is in his best interest to represent, shield and champion their cause against the dynasties. What they forgot is , the Orwellian principle was in the works. Napoleon was conspiring how he will overthrow the current dynasties and replace them with himself. To manage to do that , the hoi polloi were his target. And to achieve it , a class war had to be declared and planned with much precision.
The rich in the society started living in fear. Their properties and businesses were targeted. If you can recall, there was an accident in Nandi County between a boda boda rider and a motorist driving a SUV. What happened is , fellow boda boda colleagues came for that boda guy rescue chanting with fury , dynasty!! dynasty!!! Burn!! And whst ensued after a melee which took barely 5 minutes, the SUV was torched. Yes!! It deserves to be torched because, it belonged to a dynasty. The proletariats must take law in the hands and teach the bourgeoisies a lesson. A clarion call to stop peddling this narrative fell in deaf ears. Ruto and his brigade chided and bluffed the President and his troops who were fearing that , a class war can erupt and this can be very dangerous than the post elections violence this country has witnessed before. Today, the seeds of this narrative have germinated and now , the fruits are hanging ready to be harvested and the harvesting has started.
Hustlers have gone berserk and amok and by doing this , they are creating a state of lawlessness. They are turning against anyone they feel is in a position to be robbed. They believe that , those who have whst them hustlers want and in need of are dynasties. They are executing the deviance acts in brought daylight and with no iota of shame and mercies. The proponents of the hustlers and dynasties are now in pain to address the situation. They didn't anticipate that the hoi polloi will reach to this level in breaching and breaking the laws of the land. In Kenya, according to the penal codes , robbery with violence is a very serious crime and the criminal law in Kenya is very harsh on it. You either get a death penalty or life in prison. Hustlers knows it but how should they sleep hungry in such a ravaging economy and the "dynasties" walking in the streets of Nairobi and other major towns have what they need to place a meal on the table? Upcountry, the residents too there aren't spared. Their farm produces are being stolen both at night and in day. Those doing that are people well known to them. For the assailants to have impetus to do their henious acts , they are labelling their fellow villagers who are having something small in their pockets and farms as dynasties. You know, if you want to kill a dog, you definitely give it a bad name. That's how , the dynasty name is being used to propagate this vice of mugging at gun point and knives.
When they start telling you , feed us or we rob you are even kill you , this is the highest degree of class wars that the hoi polloi are waging against their fellow strugglers. What they aren't aware is , their attacking their fellows hoi pollois. If they are daring to invade a police station in Homa Bay county , broke the armory and fled with four firearms abd rounds of ammunitions , what else can't they do? If they are mugging people in the City and estats in broad daylight using motorbikes with total impunity, what else is the society waiting to see? The philosopher kings who waged this war cannot dare walk in the streets of Nairobi on food even in broad daylight. They fear the very hustlers they convinced and hoodwinked they are part of them more than they fear death. They use the State machinery to protect them from the fellow Hustlers. Irony!!! Nandi Senator Charargei claimed last week that , hustlers snatched his guzzler side mirror. Now ask yourself, if they got hold of him , what could they have done to him? His fellow "hustlers" could not have been kind with him. They believe he has because they don't have. That is , there is zero symbiotic relationship between him and them. Off course, the relationship between the hustlers and that of fake Hustlers is a love hate relationship. That's why , the rate at which they are turning against this Government is monumental.
It is no doubt that the cost of living has hit the roof. The hustlers had slot of trust with the current regime owing to the promises it was making to them during CAMPAIGNS. The campaign messaging was centred on economy and how , Ruto , once he takes over power will deal with addressing the skyrocketing prices of basic commodities. The promis made is not materializing in a rate hustlers were anticipating. They feel betrayed and shortchanged. And because they cannot reach to those who made those promises to them , they are now turning against their fellow hustlers. Those who are struggling to put a meal on their tables. It is sad. The results will be more deaths since, the state will use its instruments of POWER on them. They will be killed and it will be a case of a Goverment eating the very people who rioted in the ballot to vote for it. It will be sad.
