MESSAGE TO THE PRESIDENT ELECT HE WILLIAM SAMOEI ARAP RUTO

Let me take this opportunity to congratulate you for the epic victory you staged in the just concluded presidential election. You deserved it after engaging in a campaign for nearly 10 years combing all the regions , counties , Constituencies, locations, sub locations and villages all over Kenya. As a witty political animal , you were able to mount a worthy campaign strategy and prowess. In all your political campaigns, you took charge. You commandeered everything and that alone was a score. As a student who took strategic studies , just like a army general leading a platoon engages in battle crafting , that is exactly what you deed. You as a sole person you managed to whip majority of Kenyans behind your back. That's not a mean achievement and even though I didn't support your PRESIDENTIAL cause , I can verily say unequivocally that , you were a worthy competitor.

You are a very good student of Moi school of politics. It is Moi who baked you and infact , introduced you in politics. Though your history during your tenure in defunct and ruthless YK 92 doesn't seat cosy with most Kenyans especially the victims and their relatives who are still alive , you were able to wittly wobble through and asserted yourself in KANU. That's exactly what a serious political animal who is ambitious and futuristic can do. In politics , you must fight for your space. Nothing comes on a silver platter and Power is taken not given. You have been able to overcome many political storms and because you are a go getter and a Machiavelli , you have managed to make a lot of political strides. You have managed to build alot of young politicians and a the same time destroying many especially septuagenarians in your region and without. Before 2013 when you joined hands with your boss President Uhuru Kenyatta , you were a persona non grata in Mt Kenya region. Your reunion made you to be accepted in this populace region and without mincing words , it has overwhelmingly voted for you more than your political backyard. They have bestowed you with alot of responsibilities. They are too expecting you to give a hand. They didn't give you conditions for their support and now , they are expecting you to reward them without giving conditions.

Mr President elect , one of your cardinal duties will be to form a goverment which will reflect a national outlook not merely a Kikuyu-Kalenjin dichotomy.  This is because , once you will be sworn in as the next President of Kenya , you will take an oath to defend the Constitution of the land and Kenyans in general. Both those who elected you and those who did the same. You won't be the President of Kikuyus or Kalenjins , you will be the president of 50 million ethnic nations. That's what Kenyans , African region and the international community will be expecting from you. I hope you won't degenerate into taking revenge of the injuries some State officials either meted on you or your close associates. That will be a dangerous route to take bearing in mind , all Kenyans will be closely be monitoring your every step you will be making. Kenya is a democracy though we are still struggling to make a serious footing towards full democratization , when you compare us with other African Countries and especially starting closer home , the East Africa , Kenya , we are a paragon of virtue in as far as Democracy is concerned. From your acceptance speech and the few minutes you took to answer questions posed to you by the members of the fourth estate , you pledged you won't take a reiteratory path and you will also upheld the freedom of press as it is envisaged in the constitution.

If we look at the number of votes you garnered to be declared the winner and those garnered by your worthy competitor Raila Odinga , you will believe me that , the Country is divided. As a person who loves reading the scriptures , I hope you will use Solomonic wisdom to bring the Country together. All the promises you made during campaign period , they will be realistic if only you play your role as a cog of national unity. In this election , nobody lost but KENYA won. With this in your mind , I believe it will be easier for you to unite the Nation. When that is achieved , the Country will take a serious Economic path because you know very well , there is so much to be done. Making the promises you made during campaigns which are most populistic is one thing , converting those promises into Policy bearing in mind a goverment and the State are beauracratic is another thing all together. Kenyans are expecting much from you and failure to full fill most of this promises , a serious resentment wil ensue. Wanjiku ni yule yule. Uniting the Nation isn't a Walk in the park. You need to first manage alot of peoples emotions and ego. By doing that , it will be easier to bring KENYANS together easily.

It is imperative to know that , during the campaign session , you vowed how your goverment will form a judicial inquiry on STATE CAPTURE and in this case , your targets were the Mt Kenya region oligarchs and buccaneers and also , the first family  , here I mean , the Kenyatta family. When you take the instruments of POWER , don't get drunk with it. Don't degenerate into doing things just because of your emotions. Before embarking on instituting those executive orders , first engage technocrats to give guidance. We can't afford to take the Sri Lanka route. By forming that judicial inquiry , it will be like mtego wa panga ambao hunasa waliomo na wasiokuwemo. Let it not act as an own goal. That's why , some of this things should be handled with alot of care. In South Africa , President Cyril Ramaphosa , through the Zondo Commission tried it and you can borrow a leaf because , things went south. The former President Jacob Zuma support base and community even those who didn't supported him when he was in power came to his rescue. They firmly stood by him. The State had no option but to retreat and leave the ailing former South Africa President alone. From my end , just know how you will prevent the State capture from happening if it is there and not opening the closet of skeletons. It will only soil everything. GEMA nation may have politically resented towards President Uhuru Kenyatta but disturbing his peace in his retirement could be detrimental.

From my end , I hope against hope Mr President elect that , you will hold your end of the bargain in safe guarding the independence and integrity of judiciary and other independent commissions. DCI , EACC and ODPP should be converted to be appendage of the executive. In a democracy like Kenya, taking such a route will be risky. Let ensure all independent Institutions remain as so without infiltration by the State. The weaponization of security agencies should not be used especially to silence the critics of the government. I heard you said you won't have a handshake between you and that opposition. From where am seated , I can support you on this. We need an opposition which will keep the government of the day in check. We don't want to have a mongrel of a political system whereby , it is difficult to know who is running the government and who isn't. In your goverment , you can engineer a constitutional change whereby , the office of the official opposition leader is anchored in our law. As we speak , it is not. You can borrow from what bbi report proposed inorder to have a fully packaged political system. With an official opposition leader who is eligible to hold an office , be an ex officio member of both the Senate and the National Assembly is a score and who will be funded by the exchequer to form a shadow cabinet.

Kenyans are looking forward to have a goverment that will be friendly to them and will embrace consensus on many issues especially Economic ,  social and political instead of using force and bravado. We don't want as Kenyans a goverment that will turn against us. This issue of zoning which regions will benefit from National development projects should stop. All kenyans are taxpayers and development projects should be rolled out equally without looking at which region votes for which candidate and which didn't. In Mt Kenya region , we have many ongoing mega infrastructural projects like the Mau Mau road. I hope that project among many won't stall. Residents from this region will be looking upon your regime to see how it will handle it. I hope it won't stall and the phase which is remaining will be completed in due cause. The campaign period is now behind use and Kenyans should chat forward in nation building and as a captain , I Know you will show us the way and guide us accordingly. Congratulations 🎊🎊 again.
