POLITICS OF VENGEANCE WILL ONLY DEGENERATE ANARCHISM.

It is only in Africa where politics are taken as if it is matter of life and death. Kenyans went to the ballot on 9th to elect their new leaders. It is a constitutional mandate that , every five years , the contract between the holders of political seats comes to an end and inorder to renew this contract, an election is held. Those holding this seats survive while there are those who don't see the light of the day. So far , the political climate in Kenya is very conducive even as Azimio la Umoja outfit have lodged a presidential petition at the supreme court. That's very healthy for any Country which classify ITSELF as a democracy. Fine!!! Kenya is a paragon of virtue in as far as democratic ideals are concerned. That's why , we don't want any leader who can be aspiring to take this Nation in those dark ages. The days of one party rule. An authoritarian and despotic Regime.

In today's Daily Nation , the headline was heart breaking if what is there is the truth. That President elect has waged a political war with the former President Moi family. He yesterday dispatched UDA contingent captained by his Deputy President elect Rigathi Gachagua to campaign for UDA parliamentary candidate there. Rongai is one of the Constituencies where IEBC didn't hold Elections on 9th. The incumbent MP Raymond Moi is the son of late President Moi. The kind of sentiments that were being spewed there were heart breaking. They were those of incitement against the late Moi family. Is it that , the only crime Raymond Moi has committed is because he is the son of a former president who ruled this Country for 24 years? Is it because he is categorized as a dynasty and that , the hoi polloi in Rongai are that way because of Moi? Are the residents of Rongai that stupid because, they have given Raymond two terms in office. That means , there is something they saw in him. Does it mean , yesterday is the time they realized he is a son of a former President?

The most disheartening thing is , all those waging political war on the late President Moi family are the people he took from nowhere who maybe , they could be languishing in abject poverty. He nurtured and mentored them politically. He believed in them and gave them an opportunity to try their stab on politics under KANU , others served him for almost 45 years like his former Press man Lee Njiru and Rigathi Gachagua who started enjoying the State largesse while at the University, not as a lectuibit as a student. The opportunity to enjoy that largesse was facilitated by President Moi. After that , he was taken as a DO and from there , he started suckling from the autocratic KANU regime breasts. No one can stand in public and point an accusing finger on President Moi. Reason, he has never harmed either of them. The last man who was with the late Moi to the day he kicked the bucket was Lee Njiru. Okay , he is not a slave to anyone and he is free to exercise his political rights just like any other Kenyan , but what shocked many especially the residents of Rongai is by branding Moi firmly as a dynasty they should do away with. Really??? After benefiting from it for more than 45 years? How can you insult the hand that fed you , clothed you and even make him to amass the kind of wealth and riches you have which , from what we know about the autocratic KANU regime , they are just proceeds of State plundering.

This is a man who penned his biography , "The president pressman" . From what I saw him spew , I started questioning what he penned in that book about the late President Moi. You cannot harbour hatred on someone's son and convince me that you loved his father. Ngumu!!! It is not possible. So , the late Moi was sitting beside a snake but that God it didn't bit him. I was shocked and methinks am not alone. Lee had his rights to de-campaign Raymond Moi but not going overboard by profiling his family. Ruto and Rigathi have vowed to go for political jagular of the Moi family. They are branded as a family that has held people of Rift Valley hostage. The question is how??? President Moi retired in 2002 but his two sons have remained politically active , that is , former Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and now Raymond Moi. It seems , there is someone who isn't bitter with Raila Odinga becoming the 5th President of Kenya but bitter with Raymond retaining his Rongai parliamentary seat. This dynasty vs hustlers narrative if it will be rekindled in this Country and this time , directed towards the Moi's, ODINGA's and the Kenyatta's won't end well. That's how a democracy starts crumbling into anarchy. We don't want to have a leadership that is vested on people with alot of bitterness, VENGEANCE and vandetta.

This kind of politics will even polarize the Country. Absence of war or conflict in this country as we speak doesn't mean everything is fine. The magma below is still boiling but if things won't be put under strict control , we can go the Rwanda route or the Somalia one. This nonsense of elected political leaders issuing threats to others should stop. Those leaders being threatened have their supporters and if they can be pushed into the corner , they can react and it cannot be something that can go well with this Country. I heard someone after Chebukati declared him president elect that , he will unite the whole Country. He will serve all and sundry without looking from which region they come from but their latest sentiments are telling us otherwise. A looming Dictatorship may be in the offing. Could Kenyans be putting a political guillotine on their necks? Could they be behaving like that proverbial butterfly that struggles hard only to dip itself in the fire? They will incite you against the Moi , Odinga and Kenyatta families and their wealth. After that , they go after their friends and finally , they will ruthlessly seal with you. When you will be wailing on top of your voices calling the trio , they will be nowhere to heed to your distress cries and agony.

Never support any goverment that vows to go after their predecessors especially politically and not legally. Legally , that's fine because it is a constitutional process but politically , that is purely witch-hunt and personal vandetta. The reason is , once they are done with them , they will go after that leader's kinsmen and women. That's how Somalia found themselves where they are. If you ask how civil wars are mooted, it is not hard , that route is the best. You antagonize your citizens based on ethnic profiling of their leaders especially based on Economic whims. This notion of , you are poor because the other has is what Karl Marx categorized as class wars. The ric, will feel threatened and the hoi polloi will come after them. Now , if the so called dynasties are attacked , where will the government generate revenue from? There is no goverment that prints currencies and inject it in the economy and expect to be rich as a Country. All the people are required , both the rich , middle class and hoi polloi. Class wars will breed hatred in this Country and civil war may break and make the Rwanda genocide or the Yugoslavia one look like a child play.

POLITICS is authoritative allocation of resources and values. It is through clinching power in a political office that you are in a better place to distribute resources. That's how patron client politics are effected by  Political elites who are in positions of leadership in a State. Resources have never been enough that's where , there is always conflict and resentment during their distribution. Going by Rigathi sentiments , if Kenya Kwanza Alliance will form the next Government , those who didn't vote for that outfit won't benefit from State resources. They will get the short end of the stick or none. But when the President takes an oath of office, he commits himself to serve all Kenyans irrespective of their tribe , race , religion and political affiliation.

If I didn't hear my own things , Ruto vowed that, given a chance to be the next president of Kenya , he will serve all Kenyans irrespective of whether they hail from a region which didn't vote for him in larger numbers or not. His Deputy designate telling us the contrary makes Kenyans to be confused. Confused in that , this  two people could be communicating using coded language. Who will we trust , Ruto or Rigathi? Methinks , the later is speaking his mind. He is telling us the truth that , there are regions which will be zoned and disenfranchised in as far as resource allocations especially the national cake from the national government is concerned. But if this can be true , then, it is very disheartening. That's how a Country division among its citizenry and the government that leads them forment. The clarion call of it is our time to eat maybe the rule of thr thumb. Areas zoned as pro-opposition may see it rough. It cannot be a new thing in KENYA'S political history. Jomo Kenyatta did it , Moi did it. Kibaki embraced the who country in as far as rolling out development projects is concerned. President Uhuru Kenyatta in his first term did it but in his second term , he roles out development projects across the Country. Let's hope something like that would happen but the only thing which will define that is TIME.
