MASS ACTION IS A RECIPE FOR CHAOS ; KENYANS ARE TIRED. PERIOD!!!!!

Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Alliance coalition party former presidential candidate and ODM leader Raila Odinga is at it again. He is calling for mass action to protest in whst he is calling the mutilation of the constitution 2010 and a plot by President Ruto regime to take Kenya back to the dark era of KANU under the late President Moi. The mass action was to happen last week but because of the ongoing national exams , it was postponed at a later date. From what I am able to gather , mass action is slated to take place next week on Wednesday. From where I am seated, I vehemently and unequivocally condemn such a move. Kenyans want peace. Yes!?? Peace that surpasses any human understanding. Kenyans are hungry and angry. The cost of living has hit the roof and all what they want is their bellies to be full by the end of the day.

It is important to remember that , immediately after the repeat presidential election back in October, 2017 , the then NASA coalition through Raila Odinga and his ODM party in the lead held demonstrations in the CBD under the guise of mass action that turned chaotic. Shops were looted and businesses paralyzed as anti riot police and demonstrators were engaged each other in running battles. Gun shots and teargas occupied hectares of space in a manner that , CBD was just pariah. To the shock of many, this demonstrations were happening thrice a week with chants of Chebukati must go deafening the residents of Nairobi ears.  Kenya's economy was paralyzed since, businesses couldn't open for fear of being looted. All this was taking inorder to cow the then President Uhuru Kenyatta. And because he loves peace, the international community intervened this time behind the cameras for peace between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga. That's when the famous handshake was born but why?? How can one petition his competitor presidential victory in the Supreme Court , get a favourable ruling after the victory of Uhuruto was quashed and a repeat presidential election was ordered after 60 days. Then, instead of participating in that election, you chicken out citing lack of faith and trust in IEBC?

I was party to those people who campaigned tirelessly for Azimio la Umoja. I didn't it because I believed Raila Odinga has negated from  politics of confrontation to those of sobriety. It is this kind of politics of combativeness that alienated him from the residents of Mt Kenya region. It all started in 2003 during the NARC regime under the late President Mwai Kibaki. Though him(Raila Odinga) played a vital role after Kibaki was involved in an accident , majority of Mt Kenya region vowed never to forgive him for what he did , rocking the Kibaki regime from within and expressing character traits of having a vendetta with Kikuyu dominance in that coalition.  In 2022 presidential candidate, those of us who were marketing him in the mountain did herculean task which yielded nearly zero results after heavy investment especially morally and psychologically.  Residents associates him with chaos and violence. That's are key pointers that led to severe political divorce between him and Mt Kenya region. I am shocked to see he has reverted to the very old and archaic type of politics. Telling us you will hold parallel Jamhuri Day celebrations at Kamukunji grounds isn't an insult to the current Government but also to the constitution and the democratic ideals you purport to stand and fight for. It is paradoxical in nature. What Raila Odinga should be doing is to organize the opposition. That is , from the look of things, Azimio la Umoja, as an opposition is more confused than the government they are accusing of being clueless and formless.

The public consultations Raila Odinga is telling us is a recipe for chaos and demonstrations. That's how it all begins. In 2007 , the post elections violence started with an ember of mass action. Underneath it, ethnic contempt and hatred took the better part of the so called peaceful protest. The rest is history. It is history that we don't want KENYA to remember and repeat. That's what president Uhuru Kenyatta avoided when he softened his heart to have a handshake with his political nemesis Raila Odinga. A lightning doesn't strike one position twice. With this I mean, the approach that the former President Uhuru Kenyatta took to deal with Raila isn't the same he may use to deal with him(Raila). Kenyans from all walks of life and political divide need peace. They have chosen one struggle, and that is , facing the cost of living and deteriorated economy head on. They have no luxury of sniffing teargas and bullets. Mass action is a selfish act.

I ain't divorcing myself from the issues of public importance that Raila Odinga is raising. Every normal Kenyan should not sit cosy when the state is transgressing on democratic ideals that Kenya has been enjoying for the last 31 years. The only thing I am finding politically incorrect with Azimio la Umoja leader Raila is his mondus operandi. Let him use diplomacy and not street antics that he has been using in the past. I believe even his political base is tired. They have been in the streets all the way back in 2007/2008 . They are tired now. That's why , on 9th August, they didn't turn up in large numbers to vote for Tinga in his very own political bastion of Luo Nyanza.  Something is not adding up. Should he hang his political boots? I believe it is time. Let him nurture a young leader to take over from him. Political mads action isn't wise. It should die a natural death.
