THE POLITICS OF MOISM WITHOUT MOI : MT KENYA REGION HELOOOO!!!!

 Sheeeeeeeeenzi!!!! Sheeeeeeeeenzi!!! Sheeeeeeeeenzi!! Sana this I believe we're the greetings between COTU sec gen Francis Atwoli and his Excellence the President William Ruto met in State House this week. This is after a delegation from Western Kenya led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Omwami Musalia Mudavadi, the former Kakamega senator Cleo Malala , National Assembly speaker Hon Moses Wetangula among other political honchos from that Region. The only person who shocked many not only Kenya , Africa but also the World is the presence of Atwoli. They say in politics , there are no permanent enemies but only permanent interests. With a country with no political mannerisms and ideologies, only political witch-hunt and opportunism , from my end , I was not shocked to see Atwoli enjoying the photo session with President Ruto. When Kenyans on Tweeter and Facebook were tearing Atwoli apart and others giving him accolades, I just remembered that , if one has been following Kenya's politics since the advent of pluralism back in 1991 , you should be adding more popcorns in your tray because more is yet to come. The night of long knives is in the offing.

President Ruto is a very calculative political animal. Yes!!! Very and as we speak, 2022 is behind him and now , he is trading his eyes towards the 2027 general elections. Between now and the first Tuesday of August, 2027 , President Ruto is aware alot of things will have happened then. So , politically , he won't put all his eggs in one basket and especially the Mt Kenya region basket that he is very aware it can desert him easily. If they turned against their very own son and political kingpin whom they have revered since the times of Grand coalition, how is he immune to their barrage? Ruto is aware of it. This week , he embarked on putting the mulembe nation together. Their fragmentation and continued support to ODM leader Raila Odinga is a stab on his back. He is trying to cut Raila's influence in that region. His target is former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya. As a senior most ODM leader from that region, if Ruto succeeds in boxing him , he will have managed to cut Raila's influence in Western Kenya into a good size that it will take Raila time to regroup again there.

The reverse psychology that Ruto is playing is that , he sounds and looks to have given Mudavadi the short end of the stick in as far as sharing state jobs and power is concerned but that's not true. Mudavadi looks to be too far from power but using my political lenses , Omwami is very close to power. Him being domiciled at Railways headquarters along Haile Selassie avenue should not confuse you. The son of mulembe is close to President Ruto heart. The occupant of the Harambee annex offices is the one who should be worried. Word has it that , President Ruto has also fortified his cabinet. It has various strata. Those close to him , who are his eyes and ears and are heartbeat away on making very serious policy decisions and directives. Cabinet Secretaries like Kipchumba Murkomen, Prof. Kindiki, Chelugui ,Davis Chirchir are very powerful CSs. This are untouchables and even Deputy President cannot dare question or summon him in his office. They report directly to the presidential and need not book appointment with him. They visit State House easily. It is believed , there are those Cabinet Secretaries who are using them to book appointments with the President outside the official cabinet sittings. 

It sounds that there is cold war between President Ruto and his Deputy. This is emanating from the kind of politics of nationalism especially towards the GEMA nation. DP Gachagua is determined to rally this vote rich region behind his back to the chagrin of President Ruto who sometimes back declared himself as the region's political kingpin. Then , how should someone cut him off from the very people he approached in very many occasions without using proxies to campaign for him or hold his end in climbing the mountain unlike his competitor Raila Odinga who needed guides to help him climb the mountain? Ruto brought himself and introduced himself to the Mt Kenya region residents. He used his political acumen and aura cupouled with his oratory skills to endear himself to the residents. There is no one time he delegated Campaign forays to Gachagua in this region. They were always together and there is a reason why Ruto did that. The visit of the likes of Atwoli at State House was a message being sent to Mt Kenya region and its political honchos who are planning to renegade. It will not be an easy thing. Again, Ruto will plant rebels in Mt Kenya region to scuttle the region's unity behind DP Gachagua. Those who will be given that task aren't outsiders but leaders from this very region. We will have a reincarnation of the likes of Kamotho, Kuria Kanyingi, Kariuki Chotara etc.

President Ruto is a product of Moi school of politics. The little red book written by Chinese political leader Mao TSE Tung, which Moi kept close to his chest from 1979 to 2002 is the very book Ruto is reading. He truly understands the mountain can show him the middle finger come 2022. With that in his mind , he is casting his net wider. He wants to divide Luo Nyanza. That's why he has managed to bring the likes of Owalo , Kidero , David Ochieng and other former ODM luminaries. In Ukambani, Ruto is also planting his new found political friends. He is targeting the likes of Governor Wavinya Ndeti, Malombe and Mutula Kilonzo Jr. In the coast, it is trying to lure Mombasa Governor Shariff and his Kilifi counterpart Mung'aro. So , even if the central region divides itself because, what Ruto as a calculative man can't do is to allow his Deputy to capture the whole Mt Kenya region behind him whole and intact without a response. The response here with be do play the divide and rule which Moi played in the height of political insurgency in Mt Kenya region political honchos.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is determined to bring the Mt Kenya region together but he should remember this , he too played a huge role in scattering it. Upto date , he keeps at throwing political jibes at former President Uhuru Kenyatta. If you think Uhuru Kenyatta will come out of the residents hearts and minds very easily you are wrong. Every time he is seen in the public especially in this social media spaces , there is that feeling that , it is kind residents Mt Kenya region are going back to the factory settings. It is as if they are realizing they made a mistake. From my end , it is just a matter of time. Yes!! The stone that the builders rejected , it will be of importance very soon. The Gachagua mission of uniting this Region won't be a walk in the park for him. The Mūrang'a, Kiambu and Nyeri political supremacy battles with surface. This is a plot of divide and rule that Ruto will use. As he is trying to bring the fragmented Mulembe nation together, he will ensure GEMA nation with inherit that political confusion. They will never speak in one voice and for your information, Ruto will not bring back power in GEMA nation again , with that , forget.
