COULD PROF. WAJACKOYAH FORCE A RUN OFF?

 I was listening to Robert Nesta Marley hit Redemption Songs when the idea of Prof Wajackoyah Lichuri George and his Marijuana and hyenas balls manifesto crossed my mind. On June 30th , Prof Wajackoyah and his Roots Party of Kenya ( RPK) launched his two page 10 point manifesto which elicited alot of emotions and feelings in both praises from a section of  Kenyans who condemned it and others praised it in a big way. What caught the attention of Kenyans is how Wajackoyah will deal with the corrupt in his Goverment. They will have an option of either choosing three ways of dying. One , through a lethal injection , second , by hanging or three by facing a firing squad in an open air exercise. Kenyans were treated to theatrics during that day and Citizen TV gave him prime time airing of his manifesto which concurrently took place th very day Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance manifesto in Kasarani auditorium. When Ruto was launching a 66 page manifesto which was too detailed like a PhD thesis , Wajackoyah's manifesto was short and straight to the point. Brevity was the key at this juncture. 

There is something very exciting with this man Wajackoyah and that is , he is resonating very well with the youths and the so called Hustler nation voting block. Infact , he has managed to package himself as th real hustler because , he has come from a very humble and tricky background. From being a street urchin to growing up in Children home to schooling through hardships to joining Kenya police college ai kiganjo in Nyeri County to becoming a police constable and rising through the ranks to become a police inspector.  It is during the 1991 probe of the death of Foreign Affairs minister Robert Ouko who was brutally murdered and his mutilated body was discovered by a herds boy in Got Alila in the present day Kisumu County. WAJACKOYAH was tasked to be the lead investigator abs and when he started asking pertinent questions on the murder of Ouko , he was earmarked as someone who may spill the beans yet the State was highly involved in that murder. Wajackoyah had no option than to flee to self imposed exile after he learned his life was in danger.

I wonder why the Ruto led Kenya Kwanza Alliance are getting irked by Prof Wajackoyah and his running mate who is a GEMA nation daughter. Is it because of his Marijuana clarion call or is it because he has invaded the Ruto turf of the hustlers who are the youths and the ones Ruto thinks will tilt the scales on his favor to the detriment of Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition party Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua? The fact is , Wajackoyah will get substantial vote from the youths especially those aged between 18 - 25 years and feel truly , the Prof is one of them as Hustlers. People like Irungu Kangata feel that Wajackoyah was planted by the State to scuttle Ruto's votes which are pissed by the youths. The question am asking myself is , who told Ruto that Youths votes belong to him? Which empirical research had he conducted to prove scientifically that those votes and the most interesting thing is that , IEBC gave the figures to be 8 million votes. Yes!!! Again , Wajackoyah was cleared by IEBC to run for the presidential seat after meeting all the requirements. Now , why is Mwaure not branded as the State project aimed at scuttling Ruto's votes? Where do this guys getting all this entitlement and do you believe after the 9th August this guys will accept the presidential elections results? I don't think so.

Ruto's manifesto was full of unrealistic and populistic promises which are not practical at all and the aim was to whip the emotions of Kenyans who don't interrogate issues in deep. The fact is , Kenya's economy is struggling. We are debt ridden and the Country is undergoing through a very serious galloping inflation that has been caused by the high cost of living. Then , having manifestos that is promising alot of things especially social welfare and other Economic goodies free of charge is unrealistic. It is like the African proverb that says , if a naked man offers you his trouser , think twice. You can't give what you don't have. It is like pickpocketing a naked man. Policy analysts who knows what is going on will tell you that , Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio la Umoja is just promising Kenyans but they are not answering our questions , where will they get those monies to implement their juicy manifestos? They aren't telling us how they will pay Kenya's public debt which we owe both IMF, WB , China and other bilateral and multilateral donors. Wajackoyah is giving is the plan however wierd it may both look  and sound.

Those attacking Prof Wajackoyah should leave him alone. He is a very serious presidential aspirant who jokingly can pull a surprise by forcing a re-run. This can only be fruitful if the number of registered voters especially the youths will turn up to vote which I highly doubt. Majority of them won't turn up during the material day of the general elections. They will give the polling stations a wide berth because , they lack patience of standing in the long queues.  They always excuse themselves that they will come back at around 4 pm when there are no long queues only for them to find the gates leading to the polling stations closed. If Wajackoyah will convince all this youths who are registered to vote to come to his rescue that day , he can pull a surprise or not but chances are that , he is resonating well with the so called hustler nation. Now , the question is , between Wajackoyah and Ruto , who will blink first in as far as the Youths vote is concerned.
