Since the Handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his political nemesis turned friend Raila Odinga in March, 2018 , Deputy President never saw any peace of mind , soul abs heart. He was quickly advised by a clique of Mt Kenya region political tumbocrats who always reasons with their stomachs but their brains totally shut that , it is true the president is planning to betray him. What shocked many Kenyans is when President Uhuru Kenyatta pulled a fast one on his Deputy who had constantly poured cold water on the Handshake that the president extended to Raila Odinga so that the political tensions which had eveloped most parts of Kenya especially in regions which ODM party enjoyed massive support and following. President Uhuru Kenyatta spilled the beans by telling Kenyans that , before the Handshake , he briefed Ruto that , he was planning to shake hands with his arch rival for the case of peace. KENYA is bigger than me , Kenyatta opined. RUTO didn't dispute but gave the full blessings for that cause. He even addressed the press after the two gentlemen came out of the president office at Harambee House and should hands infront of a batter of Journalists who were struggling to get the best caption. An atmosphere of peace reigned from Mombasa to Kisumu , from El Wak to Isibania.
After a few days , Ruto launched attacks towards Raila Odinga and started throwing jabs and salvos at him and in the process , he was veilly attacking the President. Since his head was full of POWER and Power only , he was trying to blackmail the president just like he has been doing since 2013 to 2017. What he forgot is that , President Uhuru Kenyatta wasn't ready to cow to his blackmail again. The kind of stick and carrot politics he used to play on him even threatening to impeach him by roping in NASA brigade in both National Assembly and Senate couldn't have seen the light of the day. Infact , the first person to approach the right Hon Raila Odinga for a Handshake was Ruto through his emissaries. He had a deal that Raila didn't look at it twice. Ruto wanted to cajole Raila whose party had a fairly good numbers in Parliament to sponsor a vote of no confidence on the President and him Ruto using the perceived numbers in Parliament would support that impeachment full throttle. Raila being a very experienced and calculative political animal asked himself this one question, " if President Uhuru Kenyatta is impeached , who will benefit from that impeachment outrightly?" Infact , it wasn't him but Ruto who is the Deputy President. The constitution allows in an event the president dies , incapacitated or impeached , the Deputy President will take over.

Ruto became more bitter with President Uhuru Kenyatta more than he did with Raila Odinga and his entire brigade. Then , Ruto engineered a take over of the Jubilee Party right from its headquarters. What he forgot that , the president who is the party leader was always ahead of him. After trying to wrestle the party from President Uhuru Kenyatta , he realized that he is just milking an elephant while sitting on a porcupine. He threw in the towel and formed a rebel party Jubilee Party Asili which too was strangled by the Office of the registrar of Political Parties. It is when Ruto roped in former Machakos County Senator Johnstone Muthama and formed UDA. To show President Uhuru Kenyatta that he is his equal , he opened the wallet and recruited his attack dogs in Mt Kenya region whose mission was to attack President Uhuru Kenyatta and the entire first family. Ruto even today knows that , all those politicians from Mt Kenya region who follow him are doing that not because of loyalty but because of his wallet. Yes!!! They are just opportunists who are riding on his predicaments and frustrations from the State to whip emotions of their followers inorder to win parliamentary, Senatorial and gubernatorial seats and once they succeed , they will spit him like no one business. That's the painful truth he has never agreed to swallow. In exchange for this feigned loyalty , he too tasked them to constantly attack the government and President Uhuru Kenyatta and try as much as to shoot down any goverment agenda in both the National Assembly and the Senate.
HYPOCRISY PER EXCELLENCE
Ruto has been charging his attack dogs to attack the Head of State and his family especially in political rallies and worst of all , in the church pulpit. After opening their loose mouths and spew vitriolic and scathing attacks and insults towards the President Uhuru Kenyatta without Ruto reprimanding them , he would take the podium and talk on a totally different issue. Already , his attack dogs has his blessings and each "dog" in this case is scripted on what to say , where and how. All this time , the President has been maintaining his cool even when his mother , Mama Ngina Kenyatta was too dragged in those insults. The purpose was to irritate the Uhuru so that he unleashes his powers and then , this guys to Capitalize on it to incite their supporters inorder to win sympathy and end up getting political mileage. When the Head of State denied them that opportunity , they finally ends up becoming even more bitter with him.
Yesterday in Kapsabet , Nandi County , Ruto lost his cool. He was ranging with fury , anger and extreme bitter. If he was in a position to get hold of President Uhuru Kenyatta at that moment , we could be talking something different. When President Uhuru Kenyatta was in Nakuru County , he made it clear that , some quarters have been thinking he is a lame duck President who is incapacitated to perform or exercise his powers just because he is remaining few days in office. He was reminding them that , he is still the President of the Republic of Kenya and the Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces. Infact , when Ruto was venting his anger and inciting his kinsmen and women in Nandi County , the President was at Langata barracks attending the trooping of colours whereby , the military was taking that chance to bid him farewell for being their commander in chief for a period of 10 years. Uhuru Kenyatta has political rights and he is at liberty to campaign and support his preferred presidential candidate. Infact , Kenya Kwanza Alliance are feeling offended for UHURU KENYATTA being the council chair of Azimio la Umoja yet , him Ruto , keeps on reminding the residents of Mt Kenya region that , President Uhuru Kenyatta promised him that , he will support his PRESIDENTIAL bid after his term comes to an end on 9th August, 2022. Fine , let's assume the president kept his part of the promise and Ruto too kept his end of the promise and Uhuru Kenyatta ended up supporting his Deputy , could Ruto be telling the President because he is outgoing not to support his presidential bid? I don't need the answer to this question.
President Uhuru Kenyatta's preferred presidential candidate is one Raila Odinga of Azimio la Umoja. He has all the rights to support him. Again , Ruto had been holding brief for President Uhuru Kenyatta by telling us that , he (Uhuru) has one VOTE. Ok , if he has One vote , why is Ruto complaining? Why is he becoming bitter? He threatened to prosecute President Uhuru Kenyatta if he can get elected as the next President. If that is so , if he is sure he is going to win , he should be waiting for him to form that kangaroo judicial review commission of inquiry on STATE CAPTURE and top on that list to include his name and that of his estrange mate Rigathi Gachagua. They always say , Simba mwenda pole ndiye mla nyama and again , you cannot run and scratch you rears at the same time. Fact!!! One activity must come before the other. Ruto cannot be campaigning for his presidential bid and at the same time , keeps on issuing threats to a sitting President who is still holding the instruments of POWER. That's fatal to threaten a sitting President of dare consequences after leaving power. In South Africa , President Cyril Ramaphosa tried it after forming the Zondo Commission to investigate forner President Jacob Zuma. He saw what happened. South Africa was burning. Yes!! And in a big and calamitous manner. The South Africa goverment had no option than to retreat and leave Zuma alone. Do Ruto thinks President Uhuru Kenyatta will seat cosy and wait him to execute his plan , oooooh , I don't think so , this is Africa and Africa is our business.
DONT HARM MY CHILDREN
Uhuru is a master tactician who knows how to use soft power to his advantage. He is a very crafty and calculative political animal. As a Realist , he knows how to blend it with liberalism but deep in himself , he is a true Machiavelli. He knows when to attack , when to retreat and also , when to feign inactive and ignorant and then , tactfully pounces on his opponents. That's exactly what he is doing. Sometimes back , President Uhuru Kenyatta had intimated that he won't campaign for his preferred successor Azimio la Umoja Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua. Even after keeping cool and distancing himself from that affair , Ruto and his coteries were still poking their fingers in UHURU's nose. By doing that , the embattled Rigathi Gachagua in the entire 90 minutes of Deputies presidential debate mentioned the name of the president 76 times. All that while , he was accusing him of using his Powers to frustrate him.
Ruto's statement went overboard. I wasn't expecting him to utter such statements infront of his supporters whom I believe will misinterpret that statement politically and ends up misusing it before , during and after the general elections. Who are this children Ruto is claiming President Uhuru Kenyatta is threatening to harm? Nick or June Ruto? Am still baffled? And again , how can President Uhuru Kenyatta stoop that low to drag Ruto's children and wife to such extent? Or which children are they ? His kinsmen and women in his Rift Valley political bastion? I don't think President Uhuru Kenyatta can do such a thing. He is a democratic. If he allowed Raila Odinga to swear himself at Uhuru park , then , I don't see how he can even harm a housefly let alone Ruto himself. So , let him(Ruto) stop inciting his people to do what they are known for. Come August 9th , Kenyans are going to participate in a general elections and not in war. We are hoping that , no Kenyan will be killed , tortured, forcefully displaced and psychologically disoriented for exercising his/her democratic right. Drums of war should not only remain silent but also should be burned.
Kenyans know Kalenjin Nation huwa hawatishwi. Yes!!! If you know you know. So , before Ruto tells Uhuru to remove his name from his mouth , he should also reciprocate the same. President Uhuru Kenyatta isn't his opponent come August. His opponents are Raila Odinga , Prof Wajackoyah and Mwaure Waihiga. Period!!! Why is he bitter when President Uhuru Kenyatta is exercise his political right as it is envisaged in the constitution. We want Rift Valley to be Bonde la Amani but not Bonde la Ufa. Elections will only take place in one Day and thr most funny thing is , in Mt Kenya region , residents will retreat to their usual lives on 10th August. Fact!!! Residents here don't take politics as if it is a matter of life and death. How can they hold demonstrations to disrupt their businesses to protest because of a presidential candidate who isn't one of their own? It won't happen. Take this to the nearest Bank near you. In my partying shot , President Uhuru Kenyatta's one vote even if he were to cast it in favour of William Ruto , it won't make him the next President of Kenya but his opposition alone on Ruto's presidential bid is enough to deny him that seat. Fact!!!!
