WHY KENYA KWANZA ALLIANCE IS PLAYING SINISTER ON PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE?

 Today , Gatundu South legislator MOSES KURIA has dropped the bombshell by intimating that , the Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate William Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua are planning not to attend the slated debates. Both the presidential and deputies one. That of deputies is slated to happen on Tuesday. The one which will be pitting Azimio la Umoja's running mate Martha Karua and Kenya Kwanza Alliance Rigathi Gachagua will air at prime time. The alliance is giving flimsy reasons that are aimed at denigrating the whole debates. That's why , am reading something sinister on the whole issue. Moses Kuria is citing a biased media which is asking questions aimed at pinning down some candidates while giving a soft landing to the others. The last Nairobi County gubernatorial debate between Jubilee Party's candidate Polycarp Kamau Igathe and UDA's candidate Arthur Johnson Sakaja is the genesis of that threat. One of the moderator Ktn news anchor Zubeida Koome derailed after posing questions to Sakaja which ruffled Kenyans especially those allied to Kenya Kwanza Alliance the wrong way. The "is your name Sakaja" generated more heat than light.

The last one month or two , Kenya Kwanza have been complaining that a section of the media houses aren't giving them the required coverage just like their main rivals Azimio la Umoja and that , the media is gagging them with unbiased stories and reporting. But let focus on the hypothesis that is making the whole Kenya Kwanza Alliance to behave this way. First, they want to bully the presidential debate secretariat by issuing veiled threats especially on the type of the questions they will be posing to both Ruto and Rigathi. Second , they may be playing the reverse psychology on their opponents and Kenyans in general. That is the same game Sakaja has played earlier before the Nairobi Gubernatorial debate where he had planned to jettison from that debate citing the same flimsy reasons of unbiased media coverage. Third, Kenya Kwanza Alliance wants to dictate the mondus operandi of the whole issue inorder , if the questions in matters integrity and historical precedents finds themselves in the podium , they will play victim that , they were drafted by the State which they accused of leaning towards Azimio la Umoja.

On Tuesday , 19th July , Gachagua will take to the debate podium to take on Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Alliance coalition party Martha Karua. It is a debate whose a majority of Kenyans are predicting the results bearing in mind the character of the debaters. For Rigathi Gachagua , his loosy mouth and lack of cognitive and mental strength is what is his greatest undoing. Every time he puts his mouth into gear , he soils everything. Her opponent in that debate knows it and that's why it will be easier for her to pin Gachagua down. I hope Hussein Mohammed , the head of communication in Ruto's presidential secretariat is giving such threats inorder to distract his opponents on the other side. The Prof. Makau Mutua and his counterpart Dennis Onsarigo are cognizance of such psychologically tricks Kenya Kwanza Alliance is trying playing on them. From where am seated , am in a position to decipher that trick and that's why am urging Martha Karua and Raila Odinga to remain focussed and prepared to appear in those debates. It is debates which Kenyans are eagerly waiting since it will be streamed live in social media spaces and mainstream media ( TV and Radio).

The moderators of this deputies debate should not be intimidated. If it is to pose questions to this candidates , it should be unbiased , straight to the point and with ZERO chills. They should understand this in the back of their minds , they are doing this on behalf of Kenyans. This candidates are seeking mandate from Kenyans to hold very coveted State jobs. So , they should not take chances. I have seen the presidential debate secretariat have opened windows and doors for Kenyans to ask this designated Deputies questions that will cover a wide range of issues. The historical conduct and character in the persons of Rigathi Gachagua and Martha should be placed under the microscope and the moderators shouldn't be cowed or shy from asking razor sharp questions. Am not having low opinion about the other two Deputies designate of Wajackoyah , Justina Wamae and Dr Mutua of Mwaure Waihiga. Noo. This ass exceptional because they have never held political seats in the past or currently. They have been in the corporate World.

The closet of skeletons will be opened to one Rigathi Gachagua. During his tenure as a District Officer ( DO) during the KANU regime , history doesn't sit cosy on him. From the Molo Division special DO assignment where former interior PS Hezekiah Oyugi used this fellows to wreck havoc on Kenyans and politicians who were critical of the Moi Regime. From Molo , enter Limuru Division . Here too , the skeletons are stinking to the high Heavens. For Karua , his exit from the NARC government without in the heights of things also is nailing her big. She is being portrayed as someone who isn't able to handle pressure that comes with some of this political Jobs. Though, it is understandable the "Mūthaiga honchos" in the Kibaki Regime were calling shots and also engineered most of Economic and corruption scandals.

In the nutshell , Rigathi Gachagua and Ruto must appear in the debates. Their past had already caught up with them. They cannot hide from it. They cannot Photoshop it. It is like an open book and all Kenyans are reading from and without ignoring even a full stop or a comma. It will be a platform for both Rigathi and Ruto to apologize for their past deeds. Those acts are difficult to ignore. By them admitting and apologizing on behalf of the KANU regime , it will lead to a closure from the relatives of the victims who either died , got serious body injuries and also lost their properties. The debate must go on as planned. Only suspects of their past and present misdeeds are planning to boycott. Those who have the past to relish and take credit for are readying themselves to appear in those debates.
