MY KICKER ON TUESDAY'S PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE.

 

On 26th Tuesday , Kenyans were glued on their television sets to follow the much awaited presidential debate which Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga gave a wide berth. He cited he cannot share the sane podium with a misygonist , narcissist and a chauvinist who some days ago , threw vitriolic and vituperative epithets towards Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu and Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa.  Raila Odinga painted Ruto who has perfected the art of lying and playing victim in his usual escapism. Even in crimes that he is highly implicated , he will deny and play victim to hoodwink Kenyans who has his political score card close to their chests. Raila walked the talk and didn't show up. Period!!!

In that DEBATE , Ruto found himself in the podium alone. There , his fellow caramaderie had filled the auditorium where , they were finding themselves failing to adhere to simple rules of maintaining silence in the entire debate. Between the name William and Ruto , there between lied DEBATE moderators Citizen TV Yvonne Okwara and Spice FM anchor Eric Latiff. This two no nonsense Journalists spoiled the  day for Ruto who had planned to carry the day with that debate. Infact , the hunter became the hunted. From the time I started watching and following Ruto in his political errands , I know him as an eloquent speaker and an astute debater. That day , Ruto was shaky and relentless. He was too trembling coupled with stammering. Things were becoming hot and hotter in a chilly evening. Topic issues like Health , Governance, Security, Agriculture, Cost of living , Corruption and integrity were thrown to him. There , as usual , he was at pain to even enumerate what the government he is both serving and criticizing has achieved on them. 

Ruto's opening remarks were shocking from the word go. He said he is a Deputy President who has never been one. This is hypocritical from the the head to the tail. Between 2013 to 2017 , Ruto was on top of things in Jubilee Government. At Chatham House , he stood in the podium and lied to the whole World that , they didn't share the government portfolios and State jobs between President Uhuru Kenyatta's TNA and his URP wing. That is what happened and when this fellow says that there is a political debt owned to him by President Uhuru Kenyatta , he better ask him to pay him come August 9th but not the entire GEMA nation. Ruto started his 2022 presidential campaigns immediately after the repeat 2017 presidential elections. He failed to tame his unbridled appetite for power. Infact , Ruto doesn't know whether he is a principal assistant to the president because , he has been masquerading to act as a co-President. He sabotaged the Uhuru Kenyatta administration by acting as a 5th column. That is sabotaging the government from within. As a master of deceit and blackmail , Ruto is also accused of mooting a plan to rope in NASA brigade in both Senate and National Assembly to impeach the president.

During the debate , apart from crying foul from right, left and centre , Ruto was evading questions posed to him by the moderators. He was framing his own questions at the back of his mind and them went ahead giving answers to them. That's the highest level of political deceit and conmanship. Questions on corruption and integrity were rubbing him the wrong way. In fact , if he was in a position to give out the question that he could have wanted the moderators to ask him , the hot topical issue of integrity and corruption wouldn't have featured.  At one point , when Latiff was pressing him hard , he was becoming emotional and that was all over his body. What shocked many people and especially his supporters , he spent 90 minutes and didn't mention the word bottom up economic model. That irked his supporters because , why ?? Why didn't he mentioned a model he has been using for almost 9 years to hoodwink and cajole their egos?

Just the other day , Ruto threw his morals and mannerisms through the window. This was witnessed when he reffered Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa as a woman and that , in his Kalenjin community , they don't slap women when him ( Eugene) accused Ruto of attempting to slap him at State House when Wamalwa led a delegation of Bukusu elders to pay a courtesy visit to one President Uhuru Kenyatta. Ruto feot irritated because Wamalwa by passed him. According to Ruto , the affairs of his Karen official residence and State House were to be commandeered by him. Sad!!! He also went to throw salvos to Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu that she is old and doesn't have a husband. Fact is , her husband died some years back. Now , tell me , is this person qualified to hold the highest office in the land? The answer is simple. NO!!! Even as the official opposition leader , I also question how he will conduct himself before Kenyans.

During the debate , I was just smiling when I was seeing Ruto struggling to answer questions and navigate in that DEBATE with ease. He reminded me of a footballer called Thomas Langu Sweswe. He was a Zimbabwe international who plied his trade with South African football giants Kaiser Chiefs. He once played for a whopping 90 minutes without touching the ball. That's the situation Ruto found himself on Tuesday night. He spent 90 minutes in the debate but didn't tell Kenyans what he has achieved in the last 10 years as a Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya. Apart from crying foul and whinning , nothing else. He shocked Kenya , Africa and the whole World when he opined that, the CS Interior removed the Kenya police reservists in the troubled kerio valley inorder to punish him? Sad!!! This is a statement I wasn't expecting to come from him. Those people who are losing lives , being displaced and injured are Kenyans who should be living peacefully since they aren't citizens of Kenya through illegal means.  A whole 90 minutes and he didn't give his score card as the second in command who between 2013 to 2017 had the 50% of the government which he gave slots to his ethnic community alone.  How are Kenyans who subscribes to his plethora of lies expect him to deliver? The only escape route he always recycle is that , the Handshake robbed him his powers and clapped his ability to deliver to Kenyans.

What Kenyans should know is that , Ruto was cornered with questions that he struggled and had to sweet profusely because the room for giving Kenyans hot air , innuendos and hubris was strangled to death by Yvonne Okwara and Eric Latiff. They are moderators who Kenyans who knows and understands where this Country should be heading and to be captained by who showered praises and accolades. Bravo Latiff and Okwara!!!! You stood between truth and patriotism by not allowing thuggery and innuendos to reign. I compared the Ruto who was speaking eloquently during the launch of his presidential manifesto in Kasarani auditorium and the Ruto who was at CUEA with filters all over his face but was even struggling to drive his points along and I was left mouth agape. Totally shocked and mesmerized.  I consoled myself maybe , he went in the classroom with a leakage only to find an emergency paper on his desk. Kaboom!!! The clou of confusion enveloped his mind. Kenyans who were waiting for that DEBATE to shift gears and join the Azimio la Umoja brigade I know you did that. The only person who is delaying delaying you is TIME and IEBC. PERIOD!!! INAWEZEKANA!!!
