HUSTLER NATION NARRATIVE IS THE OPIUM OF THE MASSES.

 The German Political philosopher and sociologist Karl Marx who lived 200 years ago talked about religion being the opium of the masses. He notes how religion had brainwashed the masses who were disillusioned by the hard Economic times and conditions which were created by the owners of capital (burgeoisies). This are the guys who were the lords and created a feudal system that glorified the owners of capital and vindicated the proletariats whom , they were always used as thr slaves. They sold their labour in exchange for salaries and wages which was meant not to solve their problems into entirety but to keep them surviving.  The burgeoisies believed that , inorder for the hoi polloi to provide their labour for meagre pay , they must exploit them.

Religion came inorder to act as an avenue for the proletariats to come and seek spiritual nourishment so that they forget the miseries they are going through in the hands of the rich. This was just a false consciousness. Infact , the real exploitation wasn't in the hands of the government inform of paying taxes and the feudal lord's and burgeoisies but in the hands of the religious leaders. The few coins they have left for themselves , instead of saving for future use or investing , they took it to this religious outfits. That's how a very serious cycle of poverty was mooted. The other German sociologist , Max Webber , penned a very controversial seminal paper going by the title , "Protestant ethic and the spirit of Capitalism." Here , Webber illuminated how the church especially the Anglican accumulated more wealth by riding on the ignorance of the MASSES by giving them  false hopes about getting rich after offering whst they have to the church.

The hustlers nation narrative is just the new opium of the masses in Kenya whose proponent is a burgeoisie by the name William Ruto. He is a rich and wealthy man who needs a whole century inorder to squander all his wealth and riches. Now , he is the person who is portraying himself as the saviour of the hoi polloi especially Economically yet , he has actively participated in dipping them in the situation they are currently are. Today , he is excusing himself and pointing the finger to thr goverment he is part and parcel of. This is the highest level of hypocrisy , deceit and conmanship. He has perfected the art of synchronizing their minds and hoodwinking them that , he is the new Ayatollah in the Street to solve their economic miseries.

Ruto has casted his net wide coupled with him deifying himself religiously. Am ain't saying it is bad to be inclined or be a member of a religious outfits , but for Ruto , he always over do it. All leaders history have documented who feigned to be more religious than the rest of their citizenry turned out to be the worst dictators. The hypocrisy he usually displays is pouring cold water on other Leaders especially his competitors as individuals who don't love God and prayers. This is the worst character of a leader looking to be the president of the republic of Kenya. Good people , remember , the late Burundi president Pierre Nkurunziza was a pastor. A staunch one for that matter who never failed to attend a church and even preach the word of God. The fact s , on the other side , he was a ruthless dictator who unleashed violence to his critics and also his very own citizens. His death was a blessing in disguise to the citizens of Burundi. So , I beseech you , Kenya isn't a theocratic State such as religious character is a requirement for one to become the president.

DP Ruto is a rich man who is riding on thr ignorance of his followers who don't question his conmanship by mooting the hustlers narrative and cosmetically coated it with bottom up economic model which he can't even explain what it means. The hoi polloi are made to think , once Ruto becomes the next president , just like his running mate , Rigathi Gachagua verbally spewed that , State House will be open to all ( hoi polloi) to enter and eat rice , meat and soda. Ruto knows all this nonsense isn't tenable. He is just riding on their wishful thinking on how they will enjoy the largesse of the State. Fallacy. Just like I said , Ruto's promises are very populistic in nature. The is inciting his followers towards the government for making the County's economy unbearable for them but this very Kenyan isn't asking himself is , is Ruto in government? Yes!!! Is he enjoying the State largesse at the expense of this hoi polloi? Yes!!! 

Caught in this opium of the hustlers narrative is the celebrated former Citizen TV news anchor Hussein Mohammed. The person I used to see in my television set reading the 9 pm news and hosting the political elites in the mouth watering and razor sharp interviews that made some like Moses Kuria to walk out in the middle of the debate, I just laugh. Today , he is doing all manner of theatrics. Painting the late US president Eisenhower building as the US White House. Today , he manufactures fake news which he was weeding out when he was at Citizen TV.

This hustler nation narrative is destructive from the word go. It is clogging the brains of its recipient not to interrogate it further. They consume anything that Ruto and his surrogates gives them. Yesterday , Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Alliance coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua launched their manifesto. Kenyans should take take to scrutinize it in details. Raila Odinga has been promising to rejuvenate our economy , fight corruption with ZERO tolerance and also create a welfare State. In his 10 point agenda , he highlighted his thematic areas he will touch in his first 100 days once he gets elected.

The other presidential candidates should follow suit now and put their manifestos open for Kenyans to scrutinize. This is where we will weed out the genuine and realistic manifestos from the populistic ones. Kenya Kwanza Alliance has been riding on the latter. They only quote they will start by uplifting the ordinary wanjiku but as them but ask them how?? They mute. They talk about the ballooning public debt but they aren't saying how they will handle it. Ruto is part and parcel of that problem but he is now exonerating himse from that problem. My partying shot is , don't allow yourself to be carried away by this political sloganeering narratives. Be sober. Separate Wheat from chaff soberly. Thanks.
