RUTO'S RENT TO OWN POLICY NOT TENABLE , POPULISTIC AT ITS BEST.

 DP Ruto's campaign promises are now very populistic and cannot be supported by any policy under the sun. He is just packaging himself like an individual who is in Hollywood shooting a movie who script is of a leading character who is vying for a presidential seat. It is imperative to note that , he came up with Dynasty vs hustlers narrative. He propagated it for the better part of 2018 after the famous Handshake to 2021. Then , he realized it has started losing traction. He invented another populistic slogan the bottom up economic model which even himself can't explain in verbatim or in writing what it means or it is all about. Nowadays , it is his perceived selling point but the good thing is , sober Kenyans are poking holes on it.

His latest proposal that , if elected as the next president , his goverment will come up with an idea of rent to own programme whereby , the tenants will be given a chance to own the house after 15 years. The question is , how is this tenable in the first place? KENYA isn't a socialist/communist State whereby , there is no private ownership of property and that , the land or properties are owned by the State. Kenya is a Capitalist State and a Free market economy in thr first place. The constitution of Kenya allows any Kenyan to own as many properties as you wish as long as , it is not looted from the public coffers or any other illegal means. Ruto himse own a very vast empire of properties , both rentals and land. The question is , especially on matters land which he owns in Taita Taveta County , how many acres has he hived to house the squatters? If he is that generous and kind hearted as he is trying to portray himself.

To this example , Njoroge buys a 100 by 100 plot in joska of Juja farm for 5 million. Takes a loan from Equity Bank of 30 million to develop a commercial buildings of 4 floors. The apartment holds 2 and 3 bedrooms which the rent is sh 7800 and sh 12000 respectively. Now Ruto wants to tell us , after 15 years , tenants in Njoroge's apartment to have an arrangement where , they will own the 2 and 3 bedrooms respectively. This is madness. What Ruto want to resurrect is the dynasty vs hustlers narrative. The owner of the apartment in this case Mr Njoroge is depicted as a dynasty and the tenants are hearby enlisted as hustlers.

Ruto is trying to introduce the populist narrative that is tailored towards the Marxist Leninist ideological view. Whereby , the proletariats will come together and in unison try to overthrow the owners of capital. In short , his regime will forment a very serious conflict between the haves and the have nots. This war is worse than the Post Election Violence of 2007/08 because , it is an insurgency type of conflict. The hoi polloi will have the perception than , the rich are rich the way they are being them( hoi polloi) are poor. Now , tell us how this Country will look like? The irony is , Ruto himself is a burgeoisie who is swimming in the opulence of riches and wealth but he has managed to brain wash his followers thst he is one of them and the hoi polloi are here agreeing with him. Raila Odinga has never branded himself as a poor person inorder to wield followers and support from his political constituent. He understands too well that is political conmanship and thuggery.

Tenants wherever they are will not dare give Ruto their votes. He has shown that his goverment will target them and make their Economic rights and interests at risk. In a County like Kiambu and Nairobi , where there is a massive mushrooming of a concrete jungle of rental apartments. Infact in Kiambu and Nakuru Counties , land meny for small scale Agriculture is diminishing at an alarming rate. Most of the plots or land is being turned into commercial development and the land is being sub divided into plots for sale.Now , tell me , how will suvj a owner allow a tenant to own that house he has rented after 15 years? Kenyans should open their eyes open. The Kenya Kwanza Alliance will form a bandit type Economy which will be led in a populism way.

In Hong Kong , China , there is such rent to own agreement but the houses are developed by the government's ministry of Housing and not the private developers. Just like I said up there , Kenya isn't a communist State and Ruto should find something else to entice the so called Hustlers to vote for him. By for how long will he keep riding on their ignorance and lack of information? He knows majority of those he is massaging their ego and giving them false consciousness want to hear what he is telling them. He is feeding them with thr OPIUM he wants them to consume so that they continue following him and his populistic promises and "policies" in a dogmatic manner.

Dear tenants , wherer you own one house in Kibra or Mathare or Kayole or in Kileleshwa , avoid voting for Ruto. He doesn't have any good intentions on your properties. The properties you have toiled and moiled to acquire. You took huge loans which you will take years to complete, infact , they are mortgages. How can you be expected to take 15 or 20 years to service that mortgage loan and then , someone out here is telling you that , once he takes over power , his goverment will come out with a rent to own arrangements? Is this not thuggery?
