RUTO ; A MASTER OF DOUBLE SPEAK.

 Deputy President William Ruto is one politician who has perfected the art of whipping the emotions of the masses all over Kenya by telling them what he wants the to hear while at the same time concealing what they ought to hear and that is especially the true information they should be consuming. Before his roles were hived from him by President Uhuru Kenyatta through an Executive order back in 2018 , he was moving all over Kenya launching the construction of unbudgeted projects just to hoodwink the masses that he is in charge of government agenda especially on infrastructural projects. He would move from one media station to another enumerating all the projects the 22 ministries were engaging in. Infact , one would have thought he was the one in charge of all those ministries as their minister. The famous narrative he was going with is "tumetenga" this amount of money to this project and that. Yet all this were lies aimed at hoodwinking Kenyans and thr same time , putting the government in bad light.

Ruto speaks this today in station A and tommorow speaks totally different thing in station B. He is a reknown pathological lier. The plethora of lies he keeps on lying to Kenyans are not hitting a dead wall. Majority of Kenyans have unmasked him. He doesn't mean what he says and there is always a huge disconnect between him and the flowering promises he is making to kenyans. This is the same person back in 2013 who promised Kenyans a double digit Economy. This is the very person who promised a million jobs every year. This is thr very person who promised Kenyans that the price of 2kg Maize flour will cost roughly sh 60 only to be mentioned in thr National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) scandal.

We say that , those people who are always afraid of history have vers seriou blemishes they are trying or avoiding to be unearthed. Infact , the Ruto-Rigathí presidential ticket is one of it. Down thr annals of history , in 2009 , the International Criminal Court (ICC) through former prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo and the Waki Commission which was investigating the perpetrators of the 2007/08 PEV , gave the government a lifeline of creating a local special tribunal to try the architects and their accessories of the PEV. The grand coalition Government led by the late President Mwai Kibaki and PM Raila Odinga rallied the 10th Parliament to hasten the constitution of Kenya( amendment) bill of 2009. This amendment was very crucial because it was the one which was to aid in passing of the Special tribunal for Kenya bill of 2009.

The then Eldoret North MP William Ruto who had already fallen with ODM leader and PM Raila Odinga vehemently opposed the bill. He opined that , the special local tribunal would be subject to manipulation by State offices and power brokers in tjr Grand coalition and they victims will not get justice. The then justice and legal affairs minister Hon Martha Karua burned midnight oil trying to convince the Ruto led MPs who has renegaded on that bill. Ruto coined the phrase , "Don't be vague , let's go to Hague." During the voting of the Constitution of Kenya ( Amendment) bill of 2009 debate and voting, president Mwai Kibaki and PM Raila Odinga were present in the chambers of Parliament to rally the MPs to vote in favour of that bill. Ruto and his troops started the chorus song , don't be vague , it is Hague , don't be vague it is Hague. The bill failed and that's how the efforts by Karua , President Kibaki and Raila Odinga efforts to set up a local tribunal were strangled to death. Ruto was very happy and even addressed a press conference to stamp that victory. All this time , Ocampo 6 had not be mentioned. To Ruto's thinking , he thought the name of Raila Odinga was among the secretive envelope of the Ocampo. When the enveloped was opened , Ruto's name was there. 

As the master of double speak , he accused Raila Odinga of colluding with foreigners to jail them in foreign jails yet , he is the one who was leading his fellow MPs in opposing the move to set up a local tribunal. It is thr same Ruto who in 2017 together with president Uhuru Kenyatta mooted the plan to relocate some of the Ports operations from Mombasa to Naivasha inland depot. He defended the move after Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho agrily protested the move. Ruto even told Joho that he is a D- material who doesn't understand the operations of the government. He is told him that , the government isn't relocating thr waters in the Indian Ocean. The other day in Taita Taveta County , he told the residents once they elect him , he will relocate back the operations of Kenya Ports from Naivasha inland depot back to Mombasa. 

What will he tell the residents of Nakuru County and especially Naivasha? He praised the move by saying , the inland depot will act as a transport hub for Rift Valley and other regions and it will reduce the huge congestion logistics industry was experiencing at the port in Mombasa. Double speak. On the Arror and Kimwarer dam scandal , in a devolution conference in Kirinyaga , Ruto chided Raila Odinga after he claimed taxpayers lost a whooping sh 21B . Ruto came out guns blazing defending the issue saying , it is not 21 B which were lost but only sh 7B . Underline the word only 7B. 

Sometimes back , he denied owing even a centimeter of land in Taita Taveta County. This is after his farm manager was accused of blocking the flow of a river which was quenching the thirst of the locals down stream. The other day , he confirmed to own that land which is 2500 acres. To hide his claws , he claimed former Taita Taveta MP Basil Criticos awarded him that land only for Criticos to fire back by clearing the air that , he sold that land to Ruto to service a loan he owed Agricultural Finance Corporation ( AFC) . Double speak. 

The list is endless. Ruto gas perfected the art of speaking from both sides or the mouth. Is this the kind of person who can be entrusted with the instruments of POWER? No. He doesn't stand for anything. When the history of this Country will be written , he will feature only for the wrong things which stems from his heydays as a YK92 operative. He has never been involved in any reforms agenda in this Country. Every ministry he has ever served , he leaves red spots of blemish. Kenyans should open and open their eyes wide. Ruto had been in the government for the last 20 years.  Which solutions has be initiated to solve Kenyans problems? As we speak , he is making promises like for someone who has been in the opposition backbenches and not someone who has been second in command.Sad!!!
