CIVILIAN-MILITARY RELATIONS ; KDF HELD A SPECTACULAR EVENT.
Yesterday at UHURU GARDENS , Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) held a very spectacular air show and Military drills for the civilian to see the kind of work our gallant soldiers undertake while defending us from bothr internal and external aggression. Unlike before , where Kenyans would only see our soldiers performing during national holidays like the upcoming Madaraka day celebrations , yesterday it was epic The Kenya Airforce paratroopers staged airborne military drills that left Kenyans who had turned up mouth agape. Led by jump master Warrant Officer II Munai , it was a master piece exhibition. Bravo to our Soldiers. Since President Uhuru Kenyatta , the commander in chief of the Kenya defense forces picked General Robert Kibochi as the chief of defense forces , he has heightened civil - Military relationship.
KDF has been engaging in many corporate social responsibilities across Kenya which have one on one impact to the citizenry. From drilling boreholes , construction of hospitals , classes etc , our KDF has entered into Kenyans lives more than even. During the reign of Gen Joseph Kibwana( Navy) , Gen Jeremiah Kianga ( Army) , General Karangi(Airforce) , General Mwathethe( Navy) , there were little or no civilian Military relations. President Uhuru Kenyatta regime has made the relationship between civilians and the military to be very cordial. Yesterday , it was a culmination of that relationship. Kenyans were engaging freely with men in uniform in a way which shocked Kenyans themselves.
Kenyans had turned up in large numbers to witness what the defense forces had prepared for them. From exposing some of their combat artilleries to open exposure of Military drills from both Kenya army and Airforce , they did that with alot of love and professionalism. The Kenya Wildlife rangers too displyed their skills in defending our big 5 in various National parks and game reserves. They perfomed a drill on how they hunt poachers who pose an eminent danger to our Kenya's wildlife which generates foreign exchange for Kenya.
The marksmen from South Africa displayed their spectacular aerobatics that were not only entertaining but also shocking. The kind of expertise the quartet displayed left Kenyans mouth agape. We wee yearning for more. How I wish this event to be taking place each month. Thanks for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his chief of defense forces Gen Robert Kibochi. Private aeroplane charters like safarilink also graced the day. The national carrier Kenya Airways was also present by staging an air display using their Embraer passenger aeroplane. I hope Rigathi Gachagua didn't switch off his television or smashed his smartphone after seeing KQ were part of the entertainment troops.
The best way for any Military to win any battle and annihilate the opponent especially the danger posed by Al shabab is by winning the heats and mind of the civilians. That's the best way to win a battle and not only using heavily artilleries , infantry and regiments. Civilians forms a very solid component for the success of our KDFs. When this lacks , something methinks Gen Robert Kibochi is putting into cognizance is because he knows it is a hallmark. How I wish this civilian - Military relations will continue post President Uhuru Kenyatta regime.
Defence forces canteen organization (Defco) gave Kenyans spectacular services. With a mammoth crowd , they were able to serve Kenyans very quickly and good services. Kenyans took that event to enjoy the tax-free products from the defense forces. How I wish they came with maize and wheat flour and cooking oil because this are some of the basic household products whose prices has skyrocketed. Yes!!! Let's be honest for once. I would have purchased them in bulk😂.
In conclusion , let's continue supporting our defense forces. Accord them the much respect they deserve as they guard and protect us and our borders. Also our brothers and sisters in Boni forest and in Somalia , we continue praying for them and according them thr much support. God bless KENYA.
