DEMOCRACY DIES IN DARKNESS ; STRANGLERS ARE KNOWN. LET'S AVOID THEM AT THE BALLOT.

Democracy is the will of the people , by the people , for the people. In KENYA'S history since independence , the Kenyatta government adopted the de jure one party state. KANU became thr sole political party after KADU was dissolved. It didn't die a natural death but under hand machinations took place. Leaders in KADU led by Daniel Moi , Ronald Ngala , Masinde Muliro etc abandoned the KADU party and that was the death of Democracy in the Parliament. Autocracy and authoritarianism took root until 1991 when the second liberation battle was initiated. Those who went through the hands of the autocratic and despotic KANU regime meted on the politicians who opposed it. Many were detained without trial , imprisoned and forced to exile. Freedom is very expensive. Those who went through in the hands of thr Kenya police , CID Sleuths and thr notorious special branch officers , have the audacity to lecture us on the importance of democracy in a State.

So far , in KENYA'S political terrain we have two camps , Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Alliance coalition party and Kenya Kwanza Alliance. The former is inhabited with remants of the second liberation heroes. Leaders who to date , have the scars and fresh memories of the atrocious acts the KANU regime inflicted on them. They are reformists who have played a huge role in ensuring that , governance in this Country is streamlined and fine. It is the political formation which is inhabited with leaders who initiated the constitution reforms and especially the 2010 constitution. These are leaders we want to take over the leadership of this Country. We can't entrust this country with people who history of Kenya puts them in the periphery.

Kenya Kwanza Alliance Presidential aspirant has no history of any reforms in this Country. When second liberation heroes were busy fighting for multipartyism in this country , he was very busy leading the hunt of those leaders. Under the YK 92 , he ensured that the despotic KANU regime is protected at all cost. Him and Democracy cannot feature in the same sentence. Sometimes back , he said they he spent many years fighting one party rule. The question is where? In Kenya or Uganda? He was a sympathizer of the one party regime. How can he say that he will defend and safeguard Kenya's democracy? Fallacy.

Kenyans fear that , if Ruto takes over power , the first thing he will do is to struggle democracy. Censure the media houses , kill the bill of rights. Censure the social media by revoking the information act , strengthen the cybercrime act etc. He can engineer a process of abolishing the term limits and impose himself as the life president the way President Mobutu Sseko of DRC ( formerly Zaire) , former Gambia president Yahya Gammah etc did. He can rule by decree and his word can be final. Look at his friends outside Kenya especially in Africa , are they people who embrace Democracy? The answer is NO. They are autocrats , despots and dictators.His word can be final. And inorder to entrench his iron fist rule , he can forment tribal and ethnic wars. He can ensure that , ethnic communities which are a threat to him rule are zoned and hated by the rest especially his own community. That's how autocrats behave. Kenya can slowly become a pariah State.

I want to speak to us. Our inner selves. Those who are patriotic and tasted or heard horrific history of the KANU regime. Now , remants who defended they Regime through hook and crook now masquerades that they will hold our hands and take us to social , political and economic prosperity. That's a lie. A trap. They just want to return back the Despotic kind of leadership. Kleptomaniacs thrive well in dictatorial regimes and not in Democratic regimes. Let's be vigilant. We must , I rewind , we must learn from history and those who becomes paranoia when history of Kenya is revisited have something to hide. Yesterday , something sinister.
