RUTO CANNOT RESIGN. HE WONT.
Pressure is mounting on Kenya's second in command Deputy President William Ruto. Starting from is boss, president Uhuru Kenyatta , opposition leader Raila Odinga with their allies , they have been accusing Ruto of castigating the very government he is serving and also taking credit of the many development projects it has initiated and completed. In many rallies Ruto has been holding , has has never shied to take credit on those projects. This has been irking the Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Alliance fraternity. During the labour celebrations , president Uhuru Kenyatta pulled a first one on his DP by accusing him of being politically dishonest and exposing his Political conmanship. That is , speaking from both sides of his mouth.
DP Ruto cannot resign. He knows what that means to his presidential bid now that , he has fallen out with the government he is serving. To him , he knows he is a marked man. He must stay put so that he can constitutionally continue enjoying State largesse in his capacity as the Deputy President. He must stay put so that he can continue using his Karen official residence to host delegations that pay homage to him. He can't resign because , the security the State provides for him to continue giving him services since , it is the taxpayers who facilitate its existence. He can't resign because , he is a man who is facing a litany of Court cases and as at new , he is enjoying some kind of immunity from criminal prosecution. Once he can resign , criminal justice system and EACC can be after his jagular and cripple him POLITICALLY.
Ruto is a man under seige. He knows the dangers one goes through after falling out with both the State and the government. The government and especially the executive has completely cut him off from the day to day activities it is conducting. He is now a fugitive in his own government. A man on the run. But from my end , his untamed ambitions became his ruin. He is a man who , patient and his persona cannot mix or get closer to one another. He must ask himself, where did the rain started beating him? Where can he start to make things straight? Impossible!!!
The fact is , whether Ruto will resign or not , his predicaments will now be scaled up as we edge close to August 9th. That's what he needs to know as we go forward. The international community has already zoned him as a trouble some fellow who will not only turn to be the worst Autocratic , Authoritarian or even dictatorial but also , someone who will ruin Kenya's foreign policy towards the West , Europe and South Asia. With this in mind , our friend has been isolated. His recent tour of US and UK added no traction in his presidential bid. Fact!!!
By refusing to resign and continue to malign the very government he is serving has made the international community , regional Economic blocs such as COMESA , EAC , IGAD to see like a president who will cause more problems to the well-being of those outfits than good. The earlier he resigned the better. Or is he waiting for IEBC to clear him to be in the Presidential ballot and then cal it quit? Time will tell but so far , he has expressed all symptoms of a leader who doesn't believe in Democratic ideals and he is even not ready.
