POLITICS ; THE MORE YOU LOOK , THE LESS YOU SEE.

 This is a phrase that a friend of mine told me. I enquired from him why he used that phrase yet , from my end , in politics , what you see is what is probably given to you. He feigned a laughter and told me , I will share with you something many people don't know especially during this campaign seasons. Politicians are a tricky. They know the kind of people to keep close for tasks A , B, C and once those tasks are done , they place you where you belong.

I will ventilate on very issues from the face value , you may not take or you haven't taken your time to dig deep on them. You maybe very close to an aspirant A but very far. This aspirant may just be liking you because you run for him pigsty errands that him or his close friends or family members cannot do. From his end , he will feign how close you are for him. He can even allow you to ride on his/her guzzler not because he/she loves you but because of the pigsty task the fellow wants to you accomplish. In this case , they even pay well monetarily. Once you are done , they place you where you belong. Fact!!

As the official time to start campaigns is nearing , aspirants  , especially serious ones in vying for political seats with an aim of winning understands too well the kind of people to bring on board in their camps. How an aspirant navigates in this tricky part dictates the end results. Though in politics , the end justifies the means. It is at this point where , one can build him/herself or suffocate completely POLITICALLY. That's the painful truth.

Those in Political camps , there is no need of waging petty wars on each other in the aim of attracting the attention of your boss. That's always a dangerous route and path to take. By the end of the day , it leads to detrimental results. At this juncture , when that aspirant understands , he/she lost because of supremacy battles in their camp , they end up hating each and every person who was in his camp. A witty aspirant should be in a position to indentify the character of each person in his/her. A conduct an unbiased SWOT analysis on them without taking anything to CHANCES. In an event you clinch the seat , reward both LOYALTY and MERITOCRACY.  If you get blind folded with rewarding loyalty alone at the expense of merit , you will have yourself to blame.

Attention seeking in Political camps is what suffocates them. It kills team spirit. Team work when it is strangled to death , no results can be achieved. It is always a recipe for failure. New entrants in elective politics who won't keep this into cognizance , they will have themselves to blame. Those who also believe they are too close to an aspirant , in reality , they end up being shocked that , they were indeed too far. So , there is no need of backstabbing your colleagues in a political camp inorder to step on their shoulders to reach on top. By reaching on top I mean , trying to hijack the attention of the boss. Sad!!!

In Kenya's politics , betrayal is REAL and rewarding loyalty depends on many factors. Candid advise , if you are in a political camp and the aspirant is keeping to you very close even when he is engaging in nasty errands he is accompanying you , run or decline such offers. Once they take the office , they will never want to see you close to them. Why?? The paranoia they develop is that , you know much about them and that is a LIABILITY to them and not an ASSET.  Have you ever asked yourself why , during campaigns , chances are , after an aspirant takes office through the ballot , they bring totally new faces on board?? Think about it. I hope I have triggered your mind to leave so as to look at issues using a 3rd eye. Just like I have started , in politics , the more you look , the less you see.
