KALONZO MUSYOKA : FLIP FLOPPING KINGMAKER.

Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is a Kenyan politician who you need alot of energy and commitment to study. Yes!!! Since he entered elective politics in the 80's , he has been blowing hot and cold in all the political decisions he has ever encountered himself in. Those who interacted with him in his long and decorated Political career attest that , he is one human being who is difficult to understand. His indecisive nature led in 2010 during the clamour for a new Constitution , Kenyans branded him a watermelon. This is because , the symbols which were chosen by the Interim Independent Electoral Commission ( IIEC) were Red for those who opposed it led by William Ruto and green for those who supported it led by Raila Odinga. Kalonzo , them Vice President of Kenya exhibited the chameleon nature. In some instances , he talked it about that constitution and some instances supporting. This made Kenyans to be confused and failed to understand him.

If there is one person who can clearly define Kalonzo and has suffered from his cunningness and shrewdness is one Raila Odinga. Back in 2005 , Raila had already renegaded from the NARC government and joined the back benches. When the Kilifi constitution draft was put forward by the former Attorney General Amos Wako , Raila and his fellow rebels opposed it. The symbols in the runner up to thr 2005 referendum were an orange for those who opposed it and a banana for those who supported it. During that time , Kalonzo Musyoka became his own self. He didn't express any symptoms of indecisiveness. He opposed that constitution from the start to the end. It is that time ODM-K was born to oppose Kibaki's Narc in 2007 general elections. Unfortunately , Kibaki ditched Narc and formed PNU which he defended his PRESIDENTIAL seat.

Few months to the general elections , Dan Maanzo and Kalonzo Musyoka ran away with the party ( ODM-K) and left Raila and his fellow orangers in the political wilderness. The election was beckoning and here , Kalonzo has ran away. Raila was left party less. Lawyer Gitobu Imanyara had just registered ODM party but the registrar of political parties had only issued him with a provisional certificate. Raila and his troops pressed the government to issue them with a full clearance for ODM but the then Attorney General Amos Wako placed a litany of bottlenecks something that led to a serious political friction between Raila team and thr Government. Finally , Wako threw in the towel and ODM party was given full clearance by ORPP.

Kalonzo Musyoka declared that he will be in the 2007 presidential ballot. Word have been that the State had a hand in his break away from Raila faction so that , he will deny him the super majority votes especially from Ukambani region and a whole Kamba nation all other Kenya. Then , of this was the case , the , the State shot itself on the feet. Why??? If Kalonzo had joined PNU and form an alliance , then , postel election would have been inevitable because , the gap between President Kibaki and Raila Odinga would have been big unlike it was when Kalonzo vied and garnered a paltry 879,903 . If he would have joined Kibaki , then , the results would have been different. Kibaki would have gotten 5,464,624 aganaist Raila with 4,352,993 votes. This is how clashes would have been avoided the turn seed of war had already been sowed by some quarters inside Raila's pentagon.

After the disputed presidential vote and Raila called for mass action. Kenya blew into flames. The seed of ethnic animosity was blended with contention aganaist the presidential vote that Raila claimed he was robbed. President Kibaki acted swiftly. He roped in Kalonzo and picked him as his Vice President. That someone helped to cool the tension but a new wave of violence broke out in North Rift , parts of Nairobi and Nyanza regions. Kalonzo christened that move by Kibaki as kupita katikati Yao ,a stunt he want to pull it back again. Will it succeeded this time or we will say , a lightning doesn't strike twice in thr same point?

There are 3 mustekeers in wiper party who are said to incite Kalonzo Musyoka to remain adamant and front a plethora of demands to Azimio la Umoja coalition party. He has been flip flopping since his OKA joined Azimio la Umoja. He has been playing hard and even threatening to pull out of the coalition party and vie for the presidential seat. He has also collected the required signatures and even picked his running mate. The likes of Maanzo , Enoch wambua and Mutula Kilonzo Jr have been holding brief for him. Talking harshly and in a commanding tone. But it seems Kalonzo is going back to factory settings. He is reconsidering his decision and may pull a surprise by joining hands again with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga. So far , Azimio la Umoja has slated a chief cabinet secretary position for him which is equivalent to Prime Minister post. What Kalonzo need to know is , the three musketeers are just hanging on his quandary in order to advance their own selfish political goals to the detriment of Kalonzo Musyoka. Fact. They have no business with him.

Hon Kalonzo Musyoka is good gentleman. Am accomplished lawyer and a diplomat. As a special envoy for South Sudan , he has been engaging warring parties in the war torn Country whereby , the clashes are between ethnic communities which are ugling for Power and resources especially Oil. In 2005 , Kalonzo Musyoka midwifed a peace agreement between President Bashir regime and thr late John Garang SPLM/ SPLM. I cannot forget the shuttle diplomacy Kalonzo engaged in to lute African States to reconsider their existence in the ICC and the Rome statue that created it. In short , am , Kalonzo is of strategic importance when he is in Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Alliance coalition party. Let him join the team and he may be putting himself in a very strategic position politically.
